Two Luristan Bronze Standards, circa 8th Century B.C.,
one with finial in the form of a triple-headed janiform divinity with highly stylized body, and grasping confronted cock-headed monsters by their necks, subsidiary cock’s heads below, the other in the form of a four-headed janiform deity holding confronted cock-headed monsters by their necks, subsidiary cock’s heads above and below, each standard with concave cylindrical socket on a molded base and stem of circular section with ribbed collars.
Heights 14 1/2 and 16 3/8 in. (36 and 41.6cm.)

comprising a highly stylized figure of a man standing with his splayed hands extended forward and wearing a conical headdress, his face with grooved mouth and protruding round eyes, and a Luristan whetstone handle in the form of the forequarters of a couchant ibex with tall horns swept back to the tips of the long pointed ears, the details engraved.

the oval face with pointed chin, prominent straight nose, large heavy-lidded eyes, and centrally parted hair falling in two broad masses on either side of the smooth brow.

Luristan Luri Bronze Zoomorphic
HD Enterprises ANCIENT BRONZE ZOOMORPHIC PENDANT, LURISTANThis odd, 1 ½” long zoomorphic pendant (WJF489) rests on three stubby little legs, sports a stubby upright tail, and has a tri-peaked crest running across the long axis of its head. Found in Iran and attributed to the Luristan horizon, c.1500BC, it is designed for use as a pendant. What it is meant to represent is the question? Horse, sea horse, mythical creature…your guess! In excellent condition with superb age patina, this little wearable treasure comes with a small display card and a map highlighting the Luristan area.
