An Illustrated leaf from a manuscript of a Majalis al-Ushaq (Assemblies of Lovers, i. e. Lives of Saints) of Sultan Husayn Mirza, text written in Nasta’liq script, margins ruled in colors and gold, borders richly decorated with intertwining floral motifs in gold, in mount 277 by 175 mm.
The gold bowl of pomegranates are often seen in mid sixteenth century works attributed to Shiraz and in works attributed by me to or signed by Abdollah-e Mozahheb.
