Illustrated leaf from a manuscript of Nizami’s Khamsa (Iskandarnama), gouache with gold on paper, four lines of Nasta’liq text above and one below, reverse with 20 lines of Nasta’liq text in four columns with inter-columnar decoration in colors and gold, heading in white on an illuminated rectangular panel, margins ruled in colors and gold, repairs to margins, miniature 220 by 173mm leaf 340 by 230mm.

The gold bowl of pomegranates are often seen in mid sixteenth century works attributed to Shiraz and in works attributed by me to or signed by Abdollah-e Mozahheb.
