Flowering Tendril Bidjar Carpet c. 1890
The indigo field with an overall design of split palmettes, floral sprays, and flowering tendrils, in a brick-red border of palmette and flowering vine between sea-green floral meander and sandy yellow spiralling ribbon minor stripes. Good pile, selvages rebound, scattered areas of repair in central field. 6ft.10in. x 4ft.9in. (208cm. x 145cm.)
Brick-red Field Bidjar Carpet c. 1900
The shaded brick-red field with an overall design of scrolling blue arabesques terminating in floral sprays enclosing floral wreaths, in an indigo border of turtle-palmettes issuing unusual reindeer heads linked by meandering floral designs between ivory angular floral meander, similar minor light blue and plain outer red stripes, red soumac strip at one end, minimal traces of wear, general good condition. 11ft.7in. x 8ft.8in. (352cm. x 264cm.)
