What is a Runner?

A runner is a designation for a rug that is more than twice as long as it is wide, up to about three and a half feet wide. It is often used for hallways or stairways. If it is over 3 1/2 feet wide, then it is often called a gallery carpet or a long rug.  See more runners here.
