An interesting Kurdish flat woven bag. Made in one piece it has since been opened into a single panel. In good condition with natural colors.
Antique Kurdish Khorjin Saddlebag
Size: 1 foot 10 inch by 4 foot.
Structure: Symmetrical knot. 7 knots per horizontal inch and 10 knots per vertical inch. 70 per square inch (1085 per square decimeter)
Color: Burnt sienna, dusty rose, forest green, royal blue, amber, ivory.
Yarn Spin: Z.
Warp: 2 ply tan, brown wool.
Weft: 2 shot brown, forest green wool.
Pile: 2 wool singles.
Ends: Folded over stitched plain weave with slits.
Selvages: Joined by plait stitch, forest green, rose, old ivory wool.
Handle: Medium, durable.
Further Notes: Good condition, plait stitch worn, uneven wear to the pile.

20th century. 1 foot 5 inches by 2 foot. (Not including Fringe)
Structure: Asymmetrical knot open left, twining, weft substitution, and sumac.
Yarn Spin: Z.
Warp: Wool, white.
Weft: wool ground color or brown.
Pile: 2 Wool singles.
Ends: Complete salt bag
Selvages: plain.
