Notes

Early main carpet with Tauk Nuska guls. Densely woven, tight pile, heavy. Excellent colors. – Outer borders missing, amateurishly fixed sides, moth damage and holes, mainly to the upper and right hand border.

Dimensions: about 165 x 127 cm

A rare Engsi of the Igdir tribe, whose field does not have the Hatschlou cross, but a tree pattern with five vertical stems, Erre-Güls and diagonal, jagged leaves, as is the standard repertoire of the Asmalyks.

Original finishes are missing all round, some small holes and low spots in the pile.

Already proving the small format The high age of this rare Igdir main carpet, a Turkmen tribe belonging to the Yomuden Association. Vibrant, almost colorful colors, the C-Gül ornament and a specific knotting structure are typical features of the Igdir works. A rare feature of this carpet, which has already been published by Herrmann and Engelhardt, is his blue elemos and the small palms at one end.

Pages re-wrapped, pile with slight age traces, overall good condition.

This expressive main carpet with large Dyrnak-Güls in two alternating shades has been knotted in the northern Yomud tribes, probably the Igdir. That he is older than a related specimen in the Berlin Museum with the same field pattern and the same, rare arrow vine in the main border, can be seen in its smaller dimensions. The luminous and powerful colors with green, royal blue and apricot are characteristic of the carpets of the Igdir.

Circumferentially trimmed, pile evenly low. In some places yellow discolorations, probably due to foreign influences.
